Enquiries

Freedom of Information Annual Report 2010/11

Helping people with their questions about FOI is a critical part of our work, and the Commissioner's office provides an enquiry service during office hours.  Enquiries continue to grow year on year, hitting the 10,000 mark during 2010/11.  All 22 of the Commissioner's staff deal with enquiries ? the average number of enquiries handled by each staff member during 2010/11 was 74.  In 2010/11, 80% of our enquirers were either members of the general public or public authority staff.  By contrast, just 8% of enquiries came from the media, and only 1% from elected members.
