This part of the website provides information about the applications currently being investigated by the Scottish Information Commissioner and the decisions he has issued. 

Decisions

Any decisions issued by the Commissioner will be published on this website within a week. This includes decisions made under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and those made under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.  A fully searchable database of the Commissioner's decisions under both pieces of legislation is available here:

Applications

A list of cases that the Commissioner is formally investigating under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 can be viewed here:

List of appeals under investigation

The list only includes cases which the Commissioner has accepted as valid applications. The list will be updated monthly. Some of the older cases in the list have been placed on hold while the courts are considering related cases that have been appealed. Once the courts have issued judgements on those related cases, the on-hold cases will be reactivated.
