Requesting a Review

You can request a review if:

  • you have waited for 20 working and have not yet received a response
  • you have received a response but you are unhappy with the decision

You should use the response calculator on the right to ensure you have waited the correct number of working days before requesting a review.

 

You must request a review within 40 working days after:

  • the end of the period for responding to your request (20 working days) OR
  • the date the authority responded

What next?

Once you have requested a review you should receive within 20 working days:

  • all of the information you requested

OR

  • an explanation as to why the authority cannot provide you with the information.

Response from Authority

You can appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner if you have not received a response from the authority, or are unhappy with review of the decision.
