 Enforcement Policy

The Commissioner is the statutory body responsible for promoting and enforcing Scotland's freedom of information (FOI) laws:

  • The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
  • The Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004, and
  • The INSPIRE (Scotland) Regulations 2009.

Our Enforcement Policy sets out what the Commissioner will enforce and the outcomes that enforcement aims to achieve.
