It is possible to arrange on-site training from the Commissioner's Media Team, on how to use the FOI Act effectively and responsibly. We would, ideally, like to be able to accept all such requests, but the Commissioner's Media Team is very small, and we have to make a decision about the best use of our organisation's resources. Therefore, we must consider all training requests on a case by case basis.
When considering requests from the media for training we priorities those which allow us to reach as wide an audience as possible. This could mean events which reach more than one organisation, or are likely to attract a larger number of trainees. We do, however, try to respond to requests equitably across all media and areas of interest.
You can also download recent training presentations here, and we are re happy to answer any specific questions by email or telephone.
