Commissioner's appeal portal closed

11 August 2021

The Commissioner's online appeal service (the appeal portal) has been closed as a result of technical issues.

However, you can still make appeals to the Commissioner by email or post. The best way to do that is to use our application form. For more details and to download the form, go to www.itspublicknowledge.info/appeal.

Work to develop a new appeal portal will be underway later this year, and timescales for this will be announced as soon as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any queries or need help to submit an appeal please contact us.

Information for recent appeal portal users

We are working to contact anyone who had recently submitted or started an appeal in the portal when it was closed.

If you had submitted your appeal before the appeal portal became unavailable, your information will be stored in our internal systems and the process of considering your appeal will not be affected. If you need access to the information, contact us and we can provide copies.

If you had started an appeal in the portal but you had not submitted it, we will be in contact shortly (or you can contact us). For a short period after the closure of the portal, we will be able to access most information which was uploaded but not submitted, in order to ensure no-one loses access to information they may not have elsewhere. After this time, all information in the portal will be securely deleted.
